The bright blue exterior of the Blue Loo pub in Glengarriff makes it hard to miss, and the name is one you won’t forget!
In fact, the Blue Loo’s name is a reference to ‘the Blue Pool’ – a magical harbour hidden by woodland in the heart of Glengarriff village, from where ferries ply the route to Garinish Island.
After a day’s exploring on the mainland or time spent out on Bantry Bay, many a visitor to Glengarriff has found their way to this beautiful, traditional Irish pub, where great hospitality is accompanied by a rich selection of gins, whiskeys, and beers, some of which are made here in West Cork.
Sit outside on the benches during the summer with a tasty sandwich and a creamy pint and watch the world go by. Or settle inside by a blazing fire in winter chatting with the locals. Whichever you choose, there’s no better place to relax with friends while you soak up the village atmosphere.
You’ll also find great music at the Blue Loo on a regular basis. And a fully covered Beer Garden is perfect either for an event or for a night sitting outside with friends over pints on a pleasant West Cork evening.
