Immerse yourself in forest bathing walks and retreats with Lisa from Glengarriff Forest Therapy.
Join trained forest bathing practitioner Lisa Curran for a forest therapy walk amongst the trees in the magnificent ancient oak forest in Glengarriff Nature Reserve, West Cork.
A forest bathing walk is very different from your regular walk in the woods! It is a gentle practice that enhances wellbeing, relieves stress, boosts creativity, encourages relaxation and deepens your connection with nature.
You’ll begin with a guided meditation to awaken your senses and tune into the natural world.
- Listen to the fListen to the forest soundscape
- Notice textures, smells, and sights that ground you in the present moment
- Revive your senses and your sense of self as you engage closely with the rhythms of the natural world
The guided meditation is followed by a series of invitations, guided and unguided, which allow space for your own personal nature connection.
A typical walk is approximately 2 km at most but lasts approximately 2.5 hrs. The walk route steps away from the reserve’s more public spaces to immerse you in its wild heart.
All forest therapy walks finish with a closing tea ceremony using local foraged plants and light snacks from the forest that add to the sensory experience of West Cork’s healing environment.
Along the way, you will learn the history of Forest Bathing. You will also master techniques you can use in your everyday life in nature to help cultivate a more mindful way of life.
This walk is guided by qualified forest bathing guide and forest therapist Lisa Curran. Lisa holds weekly Forest Bathing walks on Sundays. She is also available for private group bookings and one-to-one forest therapy sessions which can be reserved via her website.
