GaddinAbtGarnish Outdoor Swim
Swim around Garnish Island in Glengarriff Harbour when you sign up for GaddinAbtGarnish – one of the most stunning and safest island circumnavigation swims in Ireland.
GaddinAbtGarnish is the perfect challenge if you’re part of Ireland’s growing community of open-water swimmers! The route sees you take to the waters around West Cork’s Garnish Island, a garden paradise set in a beautiful post-glacial landscape.
The sheltered clear waters of the northeast corner of Bantry Bay are the perfect place for a Wild Atlantic swim. The rugged mountains of the Beara peninsula and water teeming with wildlife help to make this a delight for all the senses as well as a rewarding physical challenge. And there are lots of options for places to stay, eat and drink after the evening event in Glengarriff, so why not make a weekend of it?
Swim Distance Options
Swim distance options range from 1km to 5km. This means that GaddnAbtGarnish can offer a welcome to entry level open water swimmers, while also giving intermediate and expert swimmers the chance to test their endurance and speed.
Maximum swim time will be 1hr 45 mins, so please take care to pick a distance that is achievable for you.
